You enter your content into our text box. This happens entirely in your browser - no data is sent to our servers yet.
2. Analysis Happens Locally
Our JavaScript code analyzes your text right in your browser. We count words, sentences, syllables, and calculate readability scores.
3. You See the Results
The readability scores appear instantly. Your original text never leaves your device - only the analysis results are shown.

Technical note: If you view the browser's Network tab in Developer Tools, you'll see no requests are made when analyzing text.

No, absolutely not. Your text is analyzed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We never receive or store your content. You can verify this by checking your browser's Network tab in Developer Tools - no requests are sent when you analyze text.
Is it safe to analyze confidential documents?
Yes, it's completely safe. Since everything happens locally in your browser, your confidential content never leaves your device. This makes ReadMeter Pro suitable for sensitive business documents, personal writing, or any private content.
Why do you use Google Analytics if you care about privacy?
Google Analytics helps us understand how people use ReadMeter Pro so we can improve it. The data is anonymized and only shows aggregate information like "100 people from the UK visited today." We can't identify individual users or see their personal information. You can block it with browser extensions if you prefer.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
You'll lose your saved preferences (like dark mode), but ReadMeter Pro will continue working perfectly. Since we don't store any of your content or personal data, clearing browser data only affects your visual preferences.
Will you ever start collecting more data?
ReadMeter Pro's core principle is privacy by design. If we ever needed to change this (which is extremely unlikely), we'd update this policy with clear explanations and give users plenty of notice. Our goal is to keep the tool as private and simple as possible.
Can I use ReadMeter Pro offline?
Once the page loads, the text analysis functionality works offline since it's all JavaScript running in your browser. However, you'll need an internet connection to initially load the website and for Google Analytics (if enabled).
